Obituary:

Creed Robinson Lynch, 86, a true Southern Lady in every way, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009, at St. Catherine’s Village in Madison, Mississippi.

A memorial service will be held for her at Rolling Fork Methodist Church in Rolling Fork, Mississippi on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at 11 a.m. Friends are welcome to visit from 10 a.m. until the service.

Mrs. Lynch was born on July 4, 1923 in Waterford, Mississippi. She was a graduate of Holly Springs High School where she was proud to have led her high school band as drum major. Her college years began at Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi and continued when she transferred to Ole Miss where she was a member of Tri Delta sorority. It was also during her Ole Miss years that she met and married Robert Henry Furr Lynch of Marks, Mississippi.

Before moving to St. Catherine’s in 2003, Creed enjoyed life with her family and friends for over 40 years in Rolling Fork, Mississippi. She was a member of Rolling Fork Methodist Church where she served on numerous church committees and participated in the Emmaus Walk. She was also a member in the Rolling Fork Betsy Love Allen chapter of DAR. During her years as a DAR member she was honored to have held various offices and committee positions.

As an avid Bridge player, she was a member in several Bridge Clubs during her years in Rolling Fork. These clubs were a great source of personal enjoyment during her life. She often spoke fondly of her participation as a member in these clubs and the friends with whom she enjoyed playing.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sue Miller Robinson; father, Preston Brooks Robinson; brother, Clayton Brooks Robinson; sister, Mary Robinson Coker; and son, Robert Henry Furr Lynch, Jr.

She is survived by her three children, Chris Lynch Uzzle, James Brooks Lynch (Susan) and Marshall David Lynch (Denise); nine grandchildren, Larry Wade, Todd Wade, Thomas Uzzle, Rob Lynch, Jay Lynch, Preston Lynch, Alexandra Taylor, David Lynch and Haley Lynch; and five great-grandchildren, Max Wade, Madison Wade, Jared Wade, Jacob Wade and Nicholas Uzzle.

Always quick to laugh at herself and with others, she is most remembered by her family for her joyous spirit, superb sense of humor, and loving nature. Her laughter was infectious, her patience was virtuous, and her love was genuine. Creed Lynch, a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend was loved by many and will be missed by all.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at St. Catherine’s Village and to Odyssey Healthcare of Jackson, Mississippi.
Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison, MS is assisting with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rolling Fork Methodist Church, 101 North First Street, Rolling Fork, MS 39159 or to the /MS Chapter, 1900 Dunbarton Drive Suite H, Jackson, MS 39216.
